Christmas Expectations vs Reality

Christmas Expectations vs Reality Christmas: Expectations vs Reality As you might have noticed, Christmas is right around the corner, and there’s a lot of build up to the big day. But you can’t expect everything to go perfectly to plan, especially when you factor in annoying siblings, grumpy grandparents, ridiculous wrapping paper and the fact you’ve been bought socks for the 19th year running. If you’re excited for Christmas Day, just remember it won’t be exactly like you dreamed… The build-up… Decking the halls It’s time to decorate! This includes having an impressive set of outdoor lights, ideally so much so that your house can be seen from space. Remember: with Christmas, there’s no such thing as too much. In fact, put tinsel EVERYWHERE. Expectations: Reality: Going Christmas shopping RIGHT.Sure, it's going to be a little busy, but you’re sure to pick up some nice bits. Expectations: Reality: via GIPHY When you attempt to wrap Christmas presentslike a pro This time you’re going to ace it, so your recipients will spend a good minute or so marveling at how gorgeous their present looks before even attempting to open it. Expectations: Reality: via GIPHY The Big Day has arrived! Opening your presents Yes! You may not believe in Santa Claus anymore, but let’s not pretend you’re not as excited as a little kid for this part. Expectations: via GIPHY Reality: via GIPHY Socks? Oh, thanks Nan, you shouldn’t have. No, really, you shouldn’t have. Wait, is that…snow?! Obviously you first need to head to social media to inform everyone of your white Christmas, before wrapping up warm and heading outside to make the most of it. Expectations: via GIPHY Reality: via GIPHY Time to stuff yourself silly with Christmas Dinner Your parents have cooked enough food to feed everyone twice over. Looks like you’ll be having turkey leftovers for a while. Expectations: Reality: Relaxing in front of the TV after dinner Having filled up with enough turkey and mince pies to feed three people (seriously, apparently we consume almost 6,000 calories on Christmas Day), it’s time to spend quality time with the family watching Christmas TV. What could go wrong? Expectations: Reality: via GIPHY Basically: “I think at Christmas you need to drink to get through it.” #thefam Milly-it’s-Christmas-bitches-Grace (@millyhopster) November 26, 2018 Want more content like this?Register for free site membershipto get regular updates and your own personal content feed.
